WHAT IS SPEECH THERAPY?
SPEECH SOUND DISORDERS
Speech sound disorders encompass difficulties with the production and/or perception of speech sounds. Examples include individual speech sound errors (articulation disorders), or errors across several speech sounds (phonological disorders).

RECEPTIVE, EXPRESSIVE, and PRAGMATIC LANGUAGE
Receptive language refers to how a child understands language, while expressive language refers to how a child expresses him or herself. Pragmatics involve a child's ability to participate in conversations, solve social conflicts, understand social cues, and engage in play with peers.
AUGMENTATIVE & ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION (AAC)
AAC refers to methods of communicating other than talking. While some may use AAC to supplement their speech, others may use it as an alternative. AAC comes in a variety of forms, from core boards to tablet devices.
